Team Leader

A team leader at Climb Brisbane is responsible for overseeing general day to day gym related tasks and duties. They are highly familiar with all aspects of daily gym operation including membership sales, membership check in, customer service, belay inductions, floor supervision, general gym presentation and cleanliness, basic equipment maintenance, as well as day to day involvement in the
safe and smooth operation of the climbing gym.

Key Responsibilities:


● Opening and Closing as per procedures
● Assistance in the strategic development of the venue
● Welcoming patrons on arrival
● Supervision of all of the gym floor, ensuring members are climbing in accordance with Climb Brisbane’s safety rules
● Belay inductions for new members or members that have not been in for over 12 months
● Checking harnesses are fitted and being worn correctly
● Checking gym equipment ensuring fit for use
● Gym presentation – Ensure that the gym is kept clean and tidy
● Answering phone/email inquiries and providing sales support customers
● Inspection and logging of hire gear when it’s hired out and also on return
● Directing floor staff as required.

Experienced Route Setter

A route setter at Climb Brisbane is responsible for crafting innovative, creative and safe top-rope and
lead climbs for all levels of ability. Personal safety and the safety of clients is paramount at all times
when stripping, setting and testing climbs.

Key Responsibilities:

● Removal of climbing holds
● Washing of climbing holds
● Setting and testing new and engaging top rope climbs for all levels
● Setting and testing new and engaging lead climbs of different styles for all levels
● Setting up route setting ropes as per gym operations manual
● Constructive critiquing of climbs
● Carry out the maintenance needs of the gym as required.
● Ensuring a tidy work space – no trip hazards
● Ability to use a mechanical hardware ie drills etc
● Ensuring a safe work area – cordoned off course setting area, ensuring appropriate PPE is
worn, i.e. safety glasses, ear protection.
